Guile sighed as he recalled his wife's glare and stern tone while he approached his brother-in-law.
"Ken, let's go to a bar, talk a bit, see how bad the Yankees are doing this season, what do you say?"
Ken looked back at his pregnant wife, who was in the adjacent room chatting with her sister, Chun Li, Cammy, and her niece Amy, little Mel on her lap. Her eyes met his then even as she was talking and the glare she sent him made the American champion gulp.
Turning back to Guile, Ken nodded.
Eliza waited until she heard Ken's car drive away before setting Mel down and beaming at the assembled women.
"It worked! Thanks for the suggestion Julie!"
"Of course, those two need to get along more."
"Will has been muttering about Ken more often," Chun Li put in. Her wife nodded at that and absentmindedly rubbed her pregnant belly.
"Sorry to change topics but do you have any baloney and ice cream? I'm starving!"
Eliza nodded and got up herself to get it, Chun Li looking at Cammy fondly.
"You're still hungry? You ate an hour ago!"
Julie and Amy grabbed Mel and hurried out of the room, knowing from the glare Cammy sent her wife that things wouldn't end well.
Eliza winced as she heard Cammy yelling and crying at the same time, swiftly setting the food down on the table as Chun Li held her wife close before joining her sister, niece and son in the living room.
"Good luck," she whispered to Chun Li before she departed fully.
Guile and Ken sipped their beers as the game played on television.
Neither had talked to one another outside of general questions about how the other was doing.
Guile was about to attempt a more in-depth conversation with Ken when he felt a tap on his shoulder. Turning around, he saw Rufus, the self-proclaimed best fighter in America, his fat jiggling this way and that as he pointed at Guile.
"Right here buddy," Ken replied.
But Rufus ignored Ken and glared at Guile. "Ken Masters, I challenge you to a fight, right here, right now!"
"I'm not Ken-" but that was all Guile got a chance to say before Rufus's fists smashed the stool he had been sitting in to pieces, Guile rolling out of the way and already in his fighting stance.
Ken aimed a kick towards Rufus but the fighter merely jumped into the air, coming down with a dive kick.
Guile was ready and unleashed a flash kick.
After Guile had secured the unconscious Rufus, tying him with flex-cuffs around his ankles and wrists and Ken had paid for the damages to the bar that Rufus had caused, the pair left, figuring their bar visit was over.
It was Ken who suggested the next activity and Guile couldn't quite believe Ken had suggested it until the pair were out on the boat, fishing rods in hand.
"I haven't fished in years," Guile admitted.
"Well now's the perfect time then. It's relaxing, isn't it?"
Guild nodded, taking in the still of the lake they were on.
Though peaceful, an hour later Guile was on his last nerve. He had caught no fish and hadn't even gotten so much as a bite on his line. Ken had similar success but the rich man looked as calm as usual.
Placing the pole down, Guile drew back his arms and fired a sonic boom into the lake.
Ken glanced at the man and shook his head.
"You'll never catch them that way."
"Did I ask for your opinion Masters?"
Ken didn't reply and put away his own pole, starting back towards the mainland once Guile realized that his attack had given him nothing but a rippling lake.
By the time the pair were back at Ken and Eliza's home, Guile wasn't as upset.
"You know Masters, you're not so bad."
"And you're not as uptight as I thought Guile."
Shaking hands, the pair went in and back to their wives.
A few days later, Cammy and Chun Li were enjoying a nice walk together when they went past Rufus, who bumped into Chun Li. Cammy was about to yell at the man to apologize when Chun Li calmed her down with a look.
"Move it you fat blonde!"
Chun Li's hand was on his shoulder before he could take another step, whirling him around to face her wife.
"Apologize sir and we won't have any issues."
"For what? Chick's as big as a house!"
Cammy's eyes watered but she gasped as she saw Chun Li crack her knuckles, laying Rufus low to the ground with a mighty kick and taking Cammy's hand as they walked away from the hunched over American.
"Ignore him honey, you're beautiful."
Cammy smiled and moved closer to Chun Li's side as the pair continued to enjoy the nice walk.
